An Open House was held for the new Northland Park Dialysis center on April 7, 2010. The brand new facility features skylights, eco-friendly, systems, and state-of-the-art dialysis equipment, and home therapies. The evening included staff led tours for guests, as well as plenty of refreshments and appetizers. Many took the opportunity to explore the facility and listen to the brief remarks from community members and others from various health care systems. Northland Park Dialysis offers peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis, in-center dialysis, and transplant referral. “Let’s Talk CKD” is a free educational class that is also offered.

NRAA Day on the Hill
NRAA Spring Day on the Hill is an attempt to keep small dialysis provider issues regarding Medicare reimbursement and bundling in the forefront with our Congressional leaders. One patient from SEMKC, Al Disouza, joined in this effort with us. Congress is in the process of balancing the budget and more cuts in reimbursement are expected from Medicare. We lobbied Representative Candace Miller, Representative Gary Peters and Senator Stabenow on those issues, as well as the upcoming inclusion of oral drugs into the bundle and the adequacy of the Medicare payment for them.
