DIALYSIS EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

 

Dialysis equipment provides life-sustaining treatments to patients with chronic renal failure. It is crucial that this equipment and its ancillary supplies be in “quality ready” status. Timely preventative maintenance and repair are the key components to ensure the integrity of our equipment maintenance program. This position is looking for “ someone” who is innovative in time scheduling, dedicated to doing quality work, analytical in diagnosing problems, and competent in both technical and teaching skills. Responsibilities:

Under supervision of nursing staff, is responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of dialysis machines, ancillary equipment, and water delivery system in an assigned dialysis unit.

Work is performed in accordance with established procedures and regulations from the manufacturer, State and Federal agencies, and AAMI Guidelines.

Participates in educational programs and equipment evaluations, and provides educational sessions regarding equipment operations with clinical staff when needed.

Assists in cleaning and storing equipment, and conducting routine laboratory tests.

May participate in on-call rotation for technical aspects of the acute dialysis program

Some local travel may be required.

 

Experience and Education:

Requires high school diploma or GED.

Certificate from a 2-year Electronics/Biomedical/Technical Program

Experience working with dialysis-related equipment preferred.
